Feral hogs are a growing nationwide problem in the United States. Feral hogs are destroying personal and commercial property at an alarming rate. These wild hogs are looking for insects and grubs. In the process of looking for food, they destroy the root systems of the grass and cause widespread damage on farms and certain cities.
Experts estimate their numbers at over 5 million animals nationwide with damages worth more than $8 million every year. In Texas alone, the estimated number of feral hogs is 2.6 million with an estimated $52 million in damage every year (see infographic below).
